Salary and Benefits
This position offers an hourly wage of $36.05, which is competitive for the culinary industry in Thunder Bay. Schedule and Hours
The Cook position requires 32 to 40 hours per week on a permanent, full-time basis. The schedule includes day, evening, and flexible hours to accommodate our restaurant’s operating needs. Key Responsibilities
As a Cook at KAVURU’S INDIAN BISTRO, your responsibilities will include planning menus and estimating food requirements, requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, and preparing dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances. You will also inspect kitchens and food service areas, order supplies and equipment, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, clean kitchen and work areas, organize buffets and banquets, and assist with managing kitchen operations.
Food Preparation Excellence
You will be responsible for preparing authentic South Indian and East Indian dishes with attention to traditional techniques and flavors. This includes mastering the preparation of complex spice blends, traditional cooking methods, and ensuring that all dishes maintain consistency and quality standards expected by our customers.
Kitchen Management
The Cook position includes elements of kitchen management, including overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining inventory levels, and coordinating with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during peak service times.
Customer Experience
