The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including three digital theatres, 32 beds, a Surgical Day Case theatre/endoscopy suite, private consultation rooms, close monitoring units, Chemotherapy suite, on-site pharmacy, Diagnostic scanning unit, and a Pathology laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Theatre Practitioner – Scrub (SFA Qualified), you will provide advanced clinical and technical expertise across a broad range of surgical specialties. Your responsibilities will include scrubbing and assisting in various surgical procedures, acting as a Surgical First Assistant (SFA) where required according to your accreditation, and providing day-to-day clinical leadership within the theatre environment.
Clinical Leadership
You will play a vital role in supporting junior staff members while maintaining the highest professional standards of care. This includes promoting best practices, supporting staff performance management and development, conducting competency assessments, and fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement throughout the theatre department.
Theatre Efficiency
A key aspect of this senior role involves supporting theatre efficiency through workforce planning, effective labour management, and cost control against established KPIs. You will work closely with Consultants to optimize theatre utilization and improve patient flow, ensuring maximum efficiency in our surgical services.
Governance and Quality
You will actively contribute to Clinical Governance, risk management, and audit activities within the theatre department. This includes implementing and maintaining safety protocols, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and best practices.
About You
We are looking for candidates with registration with either the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) or HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council). You must hold accreditation as a Surgical First Assistant (SFA) at either Level 1 or Level 2, and possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior theatre role.

Successful candidates should demonstrate proven leadership and team management experience within a theatre environment. You will need strong communication, decision-making, and influencing skills to effectively lead teams and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
