Head of Finance at Protege Professionals
At Protégé Professionals, we believe that individuals and organisations need to apply a whole new level of thinking to navigate and thrive in the emerging world. We no longer have the luxury of conducting business as usual. The organisation or individual that will survive in today’s world is one who can imagine and create their future.
For anyone who feels uneasy and boxed up in their careers, or entrepreneurs and organisations who want to stay ahead of the new era, or youths who want to be equipped for the future – we can help you achieve this.Candidate Responsibilities
Own all financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management across pre-launch buildout and steady-state operations.
Control the capital expenditure programme: procurement payments, vendor contracts, FX exposure on international equipment orders, and phased purchasing decisions.
Build and maintain the club’s financial model — membership capacity economics, à la carte revenue, F&B partnership profit share, and non-member revenue streams.
Design and run membership billing and collections for high-value annual contracts, with zero tolerance for friction in the member experience.
Structure and monitor the F&B operator partnership accounting, including profitsplit reconciliation and performance reporting.
Ensure full Nigerian tax, regulatory, and statutory compliance (FIRS, PAYE, pension, CAC filings).
Produce monthly management accounts and investor-facing reporting to a standard that withstands scrutiny.
Establish internal controls, approval workflows, and payroll as the team scales.
Advise the Founder on capital allocation, pricing decisions, and long-horizon financial strategy.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified accountant (ICAN or ACCA) with 6+ years post-qualification experience.
Experience in hospitality, private clubs, healthcare, real estate, or another capex heavy, service-led business strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience managing FX and international supplier payments from Nigeria.
Demonstrated ability to build a finance function from scratch — systems, controls, and reporting — not just operate an existing one.
Fluency with accounting software and financial modelling; you build your own models.
Absolute discretion: you will handle the financial affairs of a business serving Abuja’s most private individuals
