The Assistant Class Teacher supports the lead/class teacher in delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining a positive learning environment, and ensuring the overall academic and social development of pupils.
The role involves assisting with lesson preparation, classroom management, and student support.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons
Support pupils during class activities, ensuring understanding and participation
Help manage classroom behavior and maintain discipline
Prepare teaching materials and classroom resources
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students when needed
Supervise pupils during breaks, transitions, and school activities
Assist in assessing and recording students’ progress
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
Support inclusive learning and attend to pupils with varying needs
Carry out administrative duties assigned by the class teacher or school management.
Educational Qualification
A Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field is an added advantage
Minimum of NCE (Nigeria Certificate in Education) or equivalent
Experience:
Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred
Teaching practice or internship experience is an advantage
Fresh graduates with strong passion for teaching may be considered.
