About the role
We are seeking an experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team. This is a leadership position where you will play a key role in the development, provision, evaluation and governance of psychological interventions within our forward-thinking CAMHS team.
What you’ll need
To be considered for this role, you must have a Good Honours Degree in Psychology, eligibility for British Psychological Society Chartered status, a Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist. Substantial assessed experience working as a qualified and senior clinical psychologist is essential.
Essential qualifications
- Good Honours Degree in Psychology
- Eligibility for British Psychological Society Chartered status
- Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent for those trained prior to 1996)
- Registration with Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist
- Clinical supervision training for supervising Doctoral trainees
- Doctoral level advanced specialist knowledge of clinical psychology theory and practice
Desirable qualifications

>Post-doctoral training in specialised areas of psychological practice
- Knowledge of specialised psychological therapies for difficult-to-treat groups
- Experience of applying clinical psychology in different cultural contexts
- Recognised qualification in supervision
Your main responsibilities
As Principal Clinical Psychologist, you will provide clinical leadership within our multidisciplinary team, influence service development, guide complex case decisions, and collaborate with multi-agency colleagues to enhance care. You will work closely with the Consultant Psychologist and service leads in our CAMHS team.
