The Opportunity
We are looking for a passionate and friendly Optometrist to join our team in Scarborough. The practice has 3 testing rooms, and you will be joining a friendly team of 11. Although this is advertised as full time, we are open to part time as well. The store is a 5 minute walk from the train station and local car parks. This practice is situated within a Boots UK store, offering an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in a well-respected healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
As an Optometrist at Boots, you will play a key role in delivering brilliant patient care using the latest technology. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Leading clinics and delivering outstanding patient care
- Using the latest testing technology to assess eye health and provide expert advice
- Providing enhanced services, from triage support to advanced assessments, depending on store needs
- Offering clinical support to colleagues on the shop floor
- Collaborating with external healthcare professionals
- Keeping your clinical knowledge up to date and sharing it with others
- Playing a key role in your store’s leadership team, bringing energy and insight to every shift
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
We are looking for Optometrists who are confident, compassionate, and always focused on doing the right thing for patients. You must be GOC registered (or expecting to be within 6 months) and have an NHS performer number (or working towards it). Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential, along with a genuine interest in patient care and team collaboration.
Desirable Experience
While not essential, it would be beneficial if you have experience supporting enhanced services and a strong understanding of local clinical networks. This additional experience would help you integrate quickly into our team and provide the highest level of care to our patients.
