About the Position
St. Mary’s NHS Trust on the Isle of Wight offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Consultant Haematologist to contribute to our high-quality Haematology and Blood Transfusion services, working towards UKAS accreditation. Main Duties
The successful candidate will play a key role in our comprehensive clinical haematology, haemato-oncology, and blood transfusion service. Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive clinical haematology care (inpatient, outpatient, day case), offering expert advice on haematology results and transfusion, reviewing blood films, and participating in clinical governance.
You will share in a 1 in 4 on-call rota with Southampton colleagues and contribute to teaching, training, research, and the ongoing development of specialist services and blood transfusion practices.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
Full registration and licence to practise with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register in Haematology (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview).
UK trained applicants must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
Non-UK trained applicants will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
Desirable Qualifications
MRCPCH or evidence of equivalent qualification
Evidence of a special interest that complements those of other consultants in the department.
