GTM Engineer
Pulumi is the infrastructure as code platform for the AI era. We give developers and platform teams a better way to build, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure – using real programming languages like Python, TypeScript, Go, and Java. Our platform powers some of the most ambitious infrastructure teams in the world, and we’re just getting started.
We’re looking for a GTM Engineer to join our Growth team. This is a high-ownership, builder role where you’ll define problems, design solutions, and be accountable for outcomes. You’ll develop AI-powered tools, workflows, and automations that accelerate and enhance the effectiveness of our sales and marketing teams. Working across the full stack, you’ll take end-to-end ownership of what you build and ship.
At Pulumi, you’ll be challenged, continue learning, share knowledge with others, and collaborate with a talented and supportive team.
While Pulumi is headquartered in Seattle, WA., we are dedicated to being a remote first company. This role can be located remotely in the Pacific Time Zone.
In This Role You Will:
- Build internal AI apps and workflow automations that remove friction from GTM processes – projects like automating our paid digital program, improving Pulumi’s visibility in AI search platforms, and accelerating trial conversion
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Community Engineering, and Customer Success – embed in their workflows, understand their problems, and ship solutions that stick
- Analyze high-performing GTM behaviors and translate them into scalable systems—operationalizing best practices so they become the standard across the team.
- Build activation tooling that gets new users realize value faster – onboarding sequences, trial health scoring, and personalized nudges based on product usage
- Create signals and workflows that identify when free users or trial organizations are ready to upgrade and route them to the appropriate motion—self-serve or sales-assisted.
- Build early-warning systems that surface accounts showing signs of disengagement before they churn, and give Customer Success the tools to act on them at scale
- Instrument funnel analytics so the team can clearly see where users drop off across acquisition, activation, and retention—and take action on those insights.
We’re Looking For Someone With:
- You’ve shipped high-quality production software – apps, APIs, or automations – that real users depend on, and you hold yourself to a high bar on code quality
- You have 2+ years of full-stack or backend development experience
- You’re fluent with AI-assisted development – Claude Code is a core part of your workflow, not a novelty – and you’re comfortable working with LLMs and AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) to build practical, production-grade tools
- You understand GTM systems – you know what Salesforce is for, why lead routing matters, and how data flows between marketing and sales
- You have experience with automation and integration tooling (n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar)
- You can work across the stack: write a Python script, wire up an API, build a lightweight front end, and deploy it
- You take ownership of outcomes – you don’t wait to be told what to build next, you identify the problem, ship the solution, and measure whether it worked
- You communicate well with non-technical stakeholders – you can translate a GTM problem into a systems solution and explain your work clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Pulumi, Terraform, or CDK)
- Background in developer tools, open source, or technical B2B SaaS
- Experience building for AI-native workflows or agentic systems
