Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18.50 to $24.00 per hour, with the exact rate to be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. Position Details

This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. The work schedule includes various shifts throughout the day, including early morning, morning, day, evening, and weekend hours. The position is based on-site at our location at 900 4th St. E., Revelstoke, BC V0E 2S1.

Key Responsibilities

As a Food Service Counter Attendant at Southside Market, you will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks that ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Your duties will include operating dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, as well as placing dishes in the storage area after cleaning.

Customer Service

A significant part of your role will involve direct customer interaction. You’ll take customers’ orders, serve them at counters or buffet tables, and ensure they have an excellent experience. Providing friendly, efficient service is paramount to our success and customer satisfaction.

Food Preparation

You will be responsible for preparing, heating, and finishing simple food items, as well as packaging take-out food and portioning and wrapping foods. Additional food preparation duties include washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruit, using both manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.

Inventory Management

Maintaining proper inventory levels is crucial to our operations. You’ll be responsible for replenishing condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas, stocking refrigerators and salad bars, and keeping records of the quantities of food used to ensure efficient inventory management.

Kitchen Maintenance

Keeping our kitchen clean and sanitary is of utmost importance. Your responsibilities will include sanitizing and washing dishes and other items by hand, scouring pots and pans, and cleaning and sanitizing kitchen work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.

General Cleaning

In addition to kitchen maintenance, you’ll be responsible for general cleaning duties including handling and storing cleaning products properly, removing kitchen garbage and trash, and sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing floors throughout the facility.
