Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our dedicated team. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary of $28.50 per hour. The position requires working morning and day shifts, with a total of 37.5 hours per week. Key Responsibilities
As an Early Childhood Educator at Sweet Love Childcare Centre Inc., you will have diverse responsibilities focused on supporting children’s development and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment. Your primary role will be to assess each child’s development and create personalized learning plans tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
Child Development and Care
You will be responsible for bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers while ensuring their safety and comfort. Additionally, you will guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, helping them build essential life skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.
Program Development and Implementation
A key aspect of your role will be to develop and implement childcare programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. You will create engaging activities that encourage children to express creativity through various media including art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
Engagement and Activities
You will engage children in various activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts. Additionally, you will lead activities by reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, providing them with enriching experiences beyond the classroom.
Supervision and Coordination
Your responsibilities will include supervising staff, trainees, or volunteers, as well as supervising and coordinating activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants. You will ensure that all activities are conducted safely and effectively.
Observation and Documentation
You will observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors. Additionally, you will submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, and discuss progress and problems at staff meetings.
Communication and Collaboration
As an Early Childhood Educator, you will synthesize information about children’s overall situations and communicate this to parents. You will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, ensuring a comprehensive approach to child care.
Administrative and Operational Tasks
Your duties will include assisting co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties, maintaining daycare equipment, ordering supplies and equipment, and assisting early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records. You will also prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
Regulatory Compliance
You must have knowledge of licensing regulations and establish guidelines for behavior to ensure compliance with all applicable standards. Additionally, you will attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, contributing to the continuous improvement of our programs and services.
School-Age Programming
