Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welder with strong practical knowledge of engineering, fabrication, and metalwork. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating vehicle components, frames, structures, and other metal parts while ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform welding and fabrication works on vehicle components, frames, chassis, and metal structures.
Use appropriate welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Arc, and Gas welding as required.
Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
Measure, cut, align, and fit metal components accurately before welding.
Inspect welded joints for strength, alignment, appearance, and defects.
Carry out repairs and modifications to fabricated components where required.
Operate and maintain welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, and other workshop tools safely.
Apply sound engineering principles when carrying out fabrication and welding tasks.
Identify welding-related faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Work closely with Engineers, Technicians, and Production teams to meet production requirements.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment and comply with company HSE procedures.
Perform other duties assigned by the Production or Engineering Supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of SSCE/WAEC/NECO, NABTEB, Trade Test, or Technical College qualification.
Minimum of 3 years’ practical welding experience, preferably in automobile, engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing industries.
Strong practical knowledge of engineering and metal fabrication is required.
Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings and measurements.
Good knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and workshop safety procedures.
Ability to identify common welding defects and carry out appropriate corrections.
Physically fit, disciplined, reliable, and safety-conscious.
Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and other production personnel.
