The Regulatory Tax Officer is responsible for ensuring the organization's full compliance with all applicable tax laws, statutory regulations, and regulatory requirements. You will oversees tax reporting, filing, remittance, and regulatory compliance activities while maintaining effective relationships with tax authorities and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Implement effective tax planning strategies across the company and ensure full compliance with relevant tax laws.
Initiate and implement tax planning initiatives aimed at optimizing the company’s tax exposures.
Compute, record, analyze, and report on the VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, and all other taxes and levies as may be arising from company’s transactions.
Ensure accurate and prompt processing and payment of statutory deductions, such as VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE, Pension, NSITF, etc. on monthly basis.
Understand the financial and operational implications of various tax laws and ensure the company complies with all relevant provisions.
Ensure that all regulatory and compliance registrations and clearances needed by the company are up to date.
Anchor the annual Tax Clearance Certificates for the company, ensuring that tax computations are accurate and made before the statutory timeline.
Compute tax exposures, prepare tax returns, ensure prompt payment of taxes and obtain tax clearance certificates.
Responsible for the tax audit of company in conjunction with the External Auditors.
Maintain tax balances on general ledger and ensure complete documentation of relevant supports and proof of tax remittance.
Qualification
First Degree or its equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant discipline.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in FMCG industry is required.
