To operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and monitor HVAC and associated environmental control systems within the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, product quality, personnel safety, and compliance with GMP, GDP, EHS, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
HVAC Operation & Maintenance:
Operate and monitor HVAC systems, air handling units (AHUs), ventilation systems, chillers, cooling towers, compressors, and associated equipment.
Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment.
Inspect HVAC systems regularly and identify abnormalities, leaks, unusual noise, vibration, temperature variations, and other faults.
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control-system faults.
Maintain appropriate temperature, humidity, pressure differentials, airflow, and air-change rates in production and controlled areas.
Ensure proper functioning of HEPA filters, pre-filters, dampers, diffusers, fans, coils, ducts, and other HVAC components.
Support the maintenance and operation of cleanroom and controlled-environment HVAC systems.
Pharmaceutical Compliance:
Ensure HVAC systems operate in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
Maintain appropriate environmental conditions required for pharmaceutical production, storage, and other controlled areas.
Support HVAC qualification, validation, commissioning, and requalification activities.
Qualifications & Experience
OND, HND, or B.Sc./B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, HVAC Technology, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 5–10 years of relevant experience in HVAC maintenance, preferably within a pharmaceutical, healthcare, food, chemical, or other regulated manufacturing environment.
Practical experience with AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, compressors, ventilation systems, refrigeration systems, and cleanroom HVAC systems is highly desirable.
Knowledge of GMP requirements and controlled manufacturing environments is an added advantage.
