The Spa Manager will be responsible for driving the operational excellence, commercial profitability, and premium service delivery of the company’s luxury wellness and spa facility.
The role requires deep expertise in hospitality management, wellness operations, team leadership, inventory management, and business development.
The candidate must be well-versed in industry-standard spa management software, customer retention strategies, and local FCT health and safety compliance regulations.
Role Responsibilities
Spa Operations & Quality Control Oversight:
Manage end-to-end day-to-day operations of the spa facility (treatment rooms, reception, and relaxation areas).
Oversee facility maintenance, aesthetics, cleanliness, and the strict enforcement of hygiene standards.
Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for guest check-ins, treatment protocols, and check-outs to guarantee a premium customer experience.
Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate with technicians for prompt repairs to minimize downtime.
Staff Leadership, Training & Compliance:
Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling of all spa personnel (therapists, estheticians, receptionists, and clean-up crews).
Set performance benchmarks and conduct regular evaluations to maintain service standards.
Ensure all technical staff maintain up-to-date professional certifications and comply with the FCT Public Health Department guidelines.
Foster a motivating work culture to minimize staff turnover and maintain high team morale.
Business Development & Profitability:
Identify new market trends, premium wellness treatments, and wellness packages to attract a high-net-worth clientele in Abuja.
Prepare promotional campaigns, loyalty programs, and corporate wellness partnerships to boost facility utilization rates.
Drive aggressive retail sales of skincare and wellness products alongside core spa services.
Analyze client demographics and booking data to optimize pricing strategies and maximize revenue per treatment room.
Inventory, Procurement & Vendor Management:
Manage inventory control systems for professional treatment products and retail stock.
Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international product suppliers and vendors.
Monitor product usage metrics to prevent stockouts, eliminate shrinkage, and control operational waste.
Negotiate favorable payment terms and bulk-purchase discounts with suppliers.
Financial Management & Reporting:
Develop annual operational budgets, revenue forecasts, and expenditure controls for the spa business unit.
Monitor daily financial transactions, cash flows, and point-of-sale (POS) reconciliations.
Track key financial metrics including average guest spend, payroll-to-revenue ratios, and retail vs. service splits.
Prepare regular operational and financial performance reports for Executive Management.
Experience / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Wellness & Beauty Management, or a related discipline.
A professional certification or diploma in Cosmetology, Esthetics, Massage Therapy, or Spa Management is a distinct advantage.
