We are seeking to recruit a highly experienced, technically competent and safety-conscious maintenance and operator for our gas generator facility.
The Gas Generator O&M Technician/operator will be responsible for the daily operation, routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective repair of gas-powered generators (Compressed Natural Gas, LPG) and associated electrical equipment.
This role ensures continuous, efficient, and safe power supply for our Plant, Equipment and Facilities, while minimising downtime and adhering to environmental and safety compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities include
Ensure uninterrupted power supply to the plant and smooth operation of the substations, gas generators, HFO sets, and their auxiliaries.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions or failures in operational equipment and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
Perform emergency repairs, equipment assembly, overhauling, and other maintenance activities as required.
Monitor and support the generation and transmission of electricity and the operation of related equipment and systems.
Operate and maintain equipment including the gas generator sets, HFO sets, fuel and lube oil separators, heat exchangers, HRU, air handling systems, cooling towers, fuel and gas handling systems, transformers, electric generators, electric motors, HT/LT panels, power electronics, and instrumentation systems, etc..
Ensure adequate availability of critical spare parts and conduct quality checks on consumables.
Monitor the usage and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, spare parts, and consumables.
Promote and maintain a strong culture of Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (HSE) and compliance with applicable management system requirements.
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Ensure all power plant operations and maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with established procedures and standards.
Strictly apply standard practiceprocedures before performing mechanical or electrical maintenance.
Ensure gas leak detection systems and fire suppression equipment in the generator house are fully operational.
Maintain workplace cleanliness and adhere to local environmental emission standards
Qualifications, Requirements & Certification
OND / HND / B.Tech. / B.Sc Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related technical discipline or a trade certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automobile Engineering
Certified Generator Technician (OEM training is a plus)
4+years of relevant experience in a power plant and gas production environment.
Mandatory: Proven hands-on experience working and maintaining gas-powered Plant engines and equipment
Strong knowledge of gas generators, HFO generator sets, and power plant operations
Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, power generation, and transmission
Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and equipment overhauling
Knowledge of transformers, generators, motors, HT / LT panels, SCADA, instrumentation, and related power plant systems.
Good knowledge of fuel systems, combustion processes, prime movers, and utility equipment.
Strong understanding of HSE and environmental requirements in a power generation or manufacturing environment.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
