We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to oversee the company’s financial operations, reporting, controls, budgeting, cash flow, and financial planning. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in transportation, logistics, fleet management, TSL, or a related operationally intensive industry.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the company’s day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, and financial plans.
Monitor revenue, operating expenses, profitability, and cost drivers across transport/logistics operations.
Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll-related finance processes, and general ledger activities.
Monitor customer collections, credit exposure, and outstanding receivables.
Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational requirements.
Develop and maintain strong financial controls and accounting procedures.
Monitor fleet-related expenses including fuel, maintenance, repairs, insurance, tolls, drivers’ expenses, and other operating costs.
Analyse route, vehicle, project, and customer profitability.
Work closely with Operations, Procurement, HR, and Commercial teams to improve cost efficiency. â Ensure accurate recording and reporting of assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses.
Coordinate statutory filings, tax compliance, audits, and regulatory financial requirements.
Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and other financial institutions.
Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
Lead and develop the finance/accounting team.
Implement and improve accounting systems, processes, controls, and reporting dashboards.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Minimum 7 years’ relevant professional experience, preferably within transport, logistics, TSL, fleet management, supply chain, or a similarly operational business.
Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash-flow management, taxation, and financial controls.
Demonstrable experience managing finance operations in a fast-paced business environment.
Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
Experience analysing operational costs and profitability.
Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commercial awareness
Ability to work independently and engage effectively with senior management.
