Finance Intern at Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD)
Future Resilience and Development Foundation (FRAD) is a registered non-profit organization with the corporate affairs commission (CAC) with No CAC/IT/NO/139393 in accordance with the Nigerian Law in 2019. The organization was established with the sole aim and objective to promote social service through community development projects that ensure meaningful access to services for people in need. The organization also aims to build the Resilience of vulnerable populations, especially women and children to create a safe space for them to feel safe, and free from all forms of harm. We aim to reduce illiteracy through various education programs to ensure children are supported to go to school remain in school and become good citizens.Purpose of the Position
The Finance Intern will support the Finance Department in day-to-day financial operations, including processing transactions, maintaining financial records, assisting in budget monitoring, and preparing financial reports. The role will contribute to strengthening internal controls, ensuring compliance with FRAD’s financial policies, and supporting program teams with timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing
Assist in processing payments, vouchers, and receipts in line with FRAD’s financial procedures.
Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions.
Financial Record Keeping
Support in maintaining accurate financial records, ledgers, and supporting documents.
Assist in updating financial databases and ERP systems.
Budget Monitoring
Assist in tracking project expenditures against approved budgets.
Provide support in preparing budget variance reports.
Financial Reporting
Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Support donor reporting requirements by compiling financial data.
Compliance and Internal Controls
Ensure adherence to FRAD’s financial policies and donor regulations.
Assist in maintaining accountability and transparency in all financial transactions.
Audit Support
Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
Capacity Building
Learn and apply financial management practices under the supervision of the Finance Officer.
Participate in training sessions and workshops organized by FRAD.
Performance Measures
Performance will be assessed based on:
Accuracy and timeliness of financial record keeping
Proper documentation and filing of financial transactions
Timely support in financial reporting and audits
Compliance with FRAD financial policies and donor requirements
Contribution to maintaining accountability and transparency
Qualifications and Experience Minimum Requirements
Diploma, HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Basic knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Demonstrated ability to multitask and work under pressure.
