Experienced Well Operations Supervisor at Terra Energy Services Nigeria Limited

At Terra Energy Services, we maintain a policy of creating a conducive environment for the attraction of the best qualified and motivated staff for performance enhancement.We are seeking an experienced and technically competent Well Operations Supervisor to oversee offshore well operations and ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient execution of well-related activities.
The successful candidate will supervise well start-up, shut-in, testing, intervention, well integrity, and associated well operations, while ensuring effective well barrier management, compliance with approved procedures, and adherence to applicable HSE and operational requirements.
The role requires strong offshore well operations experience, sound well-control knowledge, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and specialist service companies in a demanding upstream oil and gas environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise offshore well operations, including start-up, shut-in, testing, intervention, and well integrity activities.
Lead wellhead and Christmas tree operations and verify the integrity and effectiveness of safety-critical well barriers.
Coordinate slickline, electric line (e-line), coiled tubing, nitrogen lifting, well testing, and workover activities, as applicable.
Review and verify well programmes, procedures, risk assessments, permits, isolations, and well barrier requirements.
Monitor well pressures, annuli, and other critical well parameters and lead appropriate responses to abnormal conditions.
Coordinate activities between service companies, production teams, drilling/well intervention personnel, and other offshore interfaces.
Ensure well operations are conducted in accordance with approved programmes, procedures, and technical standards.
Maintain accurate daily well operation records, reports, and relevant technical documentation.
Escalate well integrity concerns, operational risks, abnormal well conditions, and safety issues promptly.
Qualifications & Experience
HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering/Technical discipline.
12–15 years of relevant experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry with strong upstream E&P exposure.
Demonstrable hands-on experience in comparable offshore well operations and supervisory roles.
Strong knowledge of well operations, well control, barrier management, well intervention, and well integrity practices.
Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control certification at supervisory level is strongly preferred.
BOSIET/HUET, valid offshore medical, H2S, and emergency-response certifications are required as applicable.
Relevant professional or industry certifications will be an added advantage.
Technical Competencies
Candidates should demonstrate practical and recent experience in:
Offshore well operations supervision.
Well control and well barrier management.
Wellhead and Christmas Tree systems.
Well start-up, shut-in, testing, and intervention operations.
Slickline, e-line, coiled tubing, nitrogen lifting, and well testing operations.
Well integrity management.
Pressure testing and troubleshooting.
Workover and well intervention activities.
Risk assessment, Permit-to-Work (PTW), isolation, and safe well operations.
Coordination and supervision of specialist well service contractors.

Stop or escalate unsafe work practices, barrier failures, or abnormal well conditions.
Promptly report incidents, near misses, equipment defects, well integrity concerns, and abnormal operating conditions.
Ensure well operations are conducted in accordance with approved programmes, procedures, and applicable industry standards.
Maintain all required offshore medical, well-control, safety, and professional certifications throughout the assignment.
