The role involves driving sales for BusinessDay conferences, events, and digital subscription products by identifying prospects, building pipelines, and closing B2B and B2C deals. Day-to-day activities include conducting sales calls and meetings, preparing and presenting proposals, managing contracts, and maintaining strong relationships with corporate clients, partners, and subscribers. The role also includes coordinating with the events team on conference sponsorships and delegate sales, tracking performance against sales targets, and providing feedback to improve offerings and customer experience. The successful candidate will work closely with marketing, editorial, and operations teams to align sales activities with brand strategy and overall business goals.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Sales skills, with experience in B2B and/or subscription sales, pipeline management, and achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear presentation abilities, persuasive pitching, and confident engagement with senior stakeholders.
Candidates should possess Contract Negotiation skills, with the ability to structure deals, negotiate terms, and manage agreements in line with company policies.
Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills, focused on relationship-building, timely responsiveness, and subscriber/client retention.
Candidates should possess Event Management-related skills, such as coordinating conference sponsorships, delegate sales, and collaborating with event operations teams.
Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field are beneficial.
Proficiency with CRM tools, MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), and basic data analysis to track sales performance is desirable.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced media or events environment, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, is an advantage.
