We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Bored Pile Rig Trainer to train, mentor, and develop our rig operators and piling personnel on the safe, efficient, and productive operation of bored piling rigs.
The Bored Pile Rig Trainer will be responsible for developing the competency of rig operators, assistant operators, and field personnel through structured practical and classroom-based training programmes.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on training on bored piling equipment, operational best practices, maintenance requirements, safety standards, and productivity improvement techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct practical and theoretical training on the operation of bored piling rigs.
Train operators on Kelly drilling, CFA piling, temporary casing installation, and related piling operations.
Develop and implement operator competency assessment programmes.
Evaluate operators and provide recommendations on competence levels and certification.
Train personnel on rig safety procedures, equipment inspections, and preventive maintenance practices.
Identify operational deficiencies and implement corrective coaching programmes.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training manuals for piling equipment.
Support mobilisation and commissioning of new piling rigs.
Provide guidance on troubleshooting common rig operational issues.
Monitor operator performance and recommend improvement plans where necessary.
Ensure compliance with HSE standards during all training activities.
Conduct periodic refresher training for operators and site personnel.
Work closely with the Operations, HSE, QA/QC, and Maintenance teams to improve equipment utilisation and productivity.

Successful certification of rig operators.
Improvement in operator competency scores.
Reduction in equipment misuse and operational errors.
Reduction in rig downtime attributable to operator faults.
Compliance with HSE requirements during rig operations.
Timely delivery of training programmes and competency assessments.
Reduction in operational incidents involving piling equipment.
Improvement in piling productivity and operational efficiency.
Qualification & Experience
Minimum of an OND, HND, B.Sc., or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Technical Training, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years practical experience operating and/or supervising bored piling rigs.
Demonstrable experience with piling equipment such as:
Bauer Rigs
Soilmec Rigs
XCMG Rigs
SR Series Rigs
CFA Piling Equipment
Rotary Drilling Rigs
Previous experience as a trainer, instructor, supervisor, or equipment specialist will be an added advantage.
Strong understanding of piling operations, geotechnical works, and foundation construction techniques.
