The VURIN Group is a diversified portfolio of businesses across various sectors of the oil and gas and infrastructure industries, in Nigeria and beyond, with the primary mission to establish, grow, and manage the most successful group of energy operations and support businesses, in terms of superior shareholder returns, business leadership, and contribution to society. The Role
The Reliability/Integrity Engineer will be responsible for diagnosing failure modes, improving equipment reliability and converting inspection, condition-monitoring and integrity data into practical maintenance and client recommendations.
The role will assess asset condition, degradation mechanisms and associated risks, lead or support root-cause analysis, expand appropriate predictive-maintenance practices and produce technically sound reliability and integrity reports.
The role will also ensure that changes to design, maintenance, inspection or operating requirements are appropriately assessed, verified and documented
What You’ll Do
Reliability & Integrity Analysis
Assess asset condition, failure modes, degradation mechanisms and integrity risks using available technical data.
Analyse inspection, condition-monitoring and equipment data to identify reliability and integrity concerns.
Diagnose recurring or significant equipment failures and determine appropriate technical actions.
Prioritise reliability and integrity concerns based on evidence, risk and potential consequence.
Develop practical maintenance and client recommendations from reliability and integrity findings.
Root-Cause Analysis & Corrective Action
Lead or support disciplined Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for priority equipment failures and reliability issues.
Identify underlying causes and contributing factors associated with repeat failures.
Translate RCA findings into clear corrective and preventive actions with defined owners and timelines.
Monitor agreed actions through to closure.
Verify the effectiveness of completed corrective and preventive actions.
Predictive Maintenance & Condition Monitoring
Identify appropriate applications for condition monitoring and predictive-maintenance techniques.
Monitor asset condition and trends to identify developing reliability or integrity concerns.
Establish appropriate response requirements for relevant alerts and identified conditions.
Review the quality, completeness and usability of condition-monitoring data.
Convert condition-monitoring findings into practical maintenance and operational recommendations.
Technical Reporting & Change Management
Produce clear technical reports covering reliability, integrity, condition assessment and failure analysis.
Ensure reports are supported by appropriate technical data, calculations, assumptions and review.
Assess the technical implications of changes to design, maintenance, inspection or operating requirements.
Ensure applicable Management of Change (MOC) and independent-verification requirements are followed.
Maintain traceable records of technical recommendations, MOC activities and verification evidence.
Risk, Technical Assurance & Client Support
Identify data gaps, uncertainty and integrity risks that could affect technical conclusions or decisions.
Participate in technical assurance and review activities and escalate issues requiring specialist or management decisions.
Provide timely technical responses and recommendations to Operations, Maintenance and clients.
Communicate technical findings, limitations, risks and recommendations clearly to relevant stakeholders.
Coach field teams and contribute to reliability lessons learned, competence development and continuous improvement
