About the Role
Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and creative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our Generic Team at Greenwich CAMHS. This senior position requires post-qualified experience and involves supervision and support of band 7 psychotherapists, trainees, and colleagues from other disciplines.
Job Summary
We are looking for an ACP accredited Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist to work in a community-based service with children, young people and their families. The Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy team in Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is an established, active, diverse and creative group that meets regularly, offers opportunities for CPD, holds an annual conference, and welcomes innovative ideas and collaborations.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will be part of the Generic team’s clinical leadership team, helping deliver Directorate and Trust initiatives at service level and playing a key role in monitoring and evaluating the quality of care delivered locally. You will work within appropriate Child Protection, Deliberate Self Harm, and Substance Misuse guidelines for your cases.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include providing highly specialist psychoanalytic psychotherapy assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with severe, complex and persistent mental health problems. You’ll also provide assessment and support for vulnerable parents/carers and families with complex and persistent problems.
Clinical Leadership
You’ll contribute to the Duty Rota in Greenwich CAMHS, offering emergency assessments and follow-ups to young people presenting in crisis. The role requires working within multi-disciplinary teams and liaising with external agency staff including CAMHS colleagues, education professionals, adult mental health services, and social services.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
Doctorate level and relevant qualification as a Child psychotherapist. Experience of working with children and young people in NHS settings is essential for this role.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working with families is desirable. We also value candidates with 3+ years experience working as a Child psychotherapist, with 2-3 years working with children and families in a relevant field.
Professional Experience
Supervising junior staff and trainees is essential. Experience of relevant patient groups presenting high levels of complexity and difficulty is desirable. This senior position requires significant experience in child and adolescent psychotherapy.
