About the Position
We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community Neuro Service at East London NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to develop specialist skills working with adults with neurological conditions in a community setting within the London Borough of Newham.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will provide a specialist SLT service to clients after stroke, demonstrating competence in managing acquired disorders of communication and swallowing. You will work effectively across stroke and neuro pathways, supporting the inpatient stroke and neuro multidisciplinary team.
Professional Requirements
Applicants must have a recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent, be registered with the Health Professions Council, and be a registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Experience working within the NHS is essential.
Working Environment
You will join a well-established multidisciplinary team consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation support workers, a psychologist, and other speech and language therapists. The service provides assessment, treatment, and management to adults with stroke and other neurological conditions.
Professional Development
The post holder will have access to regular clinical supervision, an established SLT and multidisciplinary CPD programme, and opportunities for additional internal and external training. Part-time applications will be considered.
Essential Qualifications
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent
- Health Professions Council – License to Practice
- Registered Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Experience working within the NHS
Desirable Qualifications
- Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses
- Experience working in a community setting

Salary and Benefits
