Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to manage the effective, efficient, and safe operation of the Health Board’s mechanical, electrical, and building infrastructure at Prince Charles Hospital. This role involves supervising a multidisciplinary team of Engineering and Building craftsmen, semi-skilled staff, and contract workers to ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance repairs, minor works, and planned preventative maintenance across hospital facilities. Essential Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you must hold a time served apprenticeship or modern apprenticeship in a relevant trade. You should have significant experience working within a maintenance environment, specifically after completing your apprenticeship. Essential knowledge includes in-depth understanding of procedures in the maintenance of plant, equipment, services, and buildings. The ability to demonstrate good negotiation and influencing skills is also required for effective team management and stakeholder communication.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
While not essential, candidates with ONC/HNC/Certifications in a relevant discipline will have an advantage. Understanding of current hospital Technical Memoranda is also desirable. Experience working specifically within a hospital setting is considered advantageous, as healthcare facilities have unique maintenance requirements compared to other industries. Additionally, Welsh Language Speaking/Listening Skills at Level 3 or above (equivalent to CEFR B2) is considered desirable, though not required.
