Job Overview
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a highly Specialist Dietitian to join their Eating Disorders Outreach Service. This is a Band 7 position offering 22.5 hours per week on a permanent, part-time basis. The successful candidate will work within a Tier 4 JCC funded service that provides specialist eating disorder training, consultation, supervision and targeted treatments to young people and families across South Wales.
About the Role
The Eating Disorder Outreach Service (EDOS) is expanding its services and seeks a dietitian who will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team. The dietitian will participate in all EDOS clinical activities including multi-family groups and parent coaching interventions. The service is also planning to extend into an Intensive Day Service, welcoming candidates with interest in this area of work.
Key Responsibilities
The overall aim is to provide Dietetic expertise and intervention as part of the Tier 4 Eating Disorder Outreach Service. You will provide a specialist dietetic resource within South, Mid and West Wales offering consultation, advice and joint working. The role requires working autonomously managing highly specialist complex clients with Eating Disorders, identifying, planning and delivering highly specialist dietetic interventions.
Clinical Duties
Candidates should demonstrate expertise in eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia and ARFID. You will demonstrate clinical effectiveness by using evidence-based outcomes and lead on specific clinical audit/research projects within your area of specialty. The role also involves developing departmental policy and participating in national policy development as required.
Collaborative Work
You will work in collaboration with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Paediatric multidisciplinary teams, identifying service improvements and taking forward strategic developments in Wales. Additionally, you will act as a source of expertise to other colleagues working within dietetics and other CAMHS in Wales.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must hold a BSc Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent qualification. Essential requirements include evidence of clinical supervision and evidence of or qualification in research and audit. You must have clinical experience of working with Eating Disorder clients at a senior level and significant experience of working with a broad range of patients across a variety of clinical settings.
Desirable Skills
Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B1) are desirable for this role. This categorisation means that while candidates don’t need to have skills in Welsh, it will be considered an advantage during shortlisting. Level 3 in Speaking/Listening means being able to hold a conversation in Welsh about everyday matters and work-related topics.
Employment Details
This is a permanent, part-time position working 22.5 hours per week. The salary is £50,129 to £57,365 per annum, pro rata. The post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, requiring a submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
