About the Role
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to continue to lead the development of St Andrews Birmingham Secure Services and to become an integral part of the REACH OUT partnership. This is a unique opportunity for a qualified Consultant Psychiatrist to make a significant impact on mental healthcare provision in Birmingham.

Responsibilities and Duties
If successful, you will lead a full multi-disciplinary team and help shape services further through strategic decision-making, improvement projects and joint working. You will play a crucial role in developing our secure services while contributing to the REACH OUT partnership.
The post holder will be required to undertake on call duties on a rota basis (currently one week in 6 weeks). You will also be able to undertake research projects as part of St Andrews’ commitment to innovation and world-class care.
Facility Information
St Andrews Birmingham is a 124-bedded adult mental healthcare facility, located in Stirchley, South Birmingham, and comprises of eight wards which cover medium and low security. At present, 7 wards provide services for men, and 1 for women.
The Birmingham Site offers an excellent opportunity to deliver value-based healthcare focusing on clinical outcomes. The charity is focusing on using up-to-date data on outcomes based on the recommendations of International Consortium of Health Outcome Measures to continually adapt care to best meet every patient’s needs.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications: Applicants must have MRCPsych or equivalent and hold a CCT in Forensic or General Adult Psychiatry.
At present the vacancy is in Low Secure Services but this can be flexible for the right candidate. We are looking for someone with leadership qualities, excellent clinical skills, and a commitment to innovation in mental healthcare.
