Technologist – Esoteric Microbiology | Labcorp
Phoenix, Arizona, Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee join our team in Phoenix, AZ. Work Schedule: Monday- Friday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Overtime required as needed. Training Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday: 8:00 – 4:30 pm.  Job Responsibilities  Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria  Perform routine and complex  tech nical  pro cedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating  Pro cedures  Monitor, operate and  troubleshoot  instrumentation to ensure  pro p e r functionality  Demonstrate the ability to make  tech nical decisions regarding testing and  pro blem solving  Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls  Report accurate and timely test results  in order to  deliver quality patient care  Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control  pro cedures  Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary  Assist with  pro cessing of specimens when needed  Maintain a safe work environment and wear ap pro p riate personal  pro tective equipment  Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor?s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical  Tech no log y  One year  or more  of clinical laboratory testing experience OR a n  MLS degree   Preferred Qualification:  Current or prior Labcorp experience  ASCP or AMT certification  Additional Job Standards  Pro ficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems  Ability to work independently and within a team environment  High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills  Able to pass a standardized color blindness test  Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs  At Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives. Every day we provide vital information that helps our clients and patients understand their health. If you are passionate about helping people and have a drive for service, then Labcorp could be a great next career step!
