Pensacola, Florida, Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval – award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Duties The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) – Nurse Practitioner (NP)practices in Primary Care Service to provide a full range of services emphasizing quality – timeliness – and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs mission The NP duties include but are not limited to: The Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice nurse prepared with advanced didactic and clinical education – knowledge – skills – and scope of practice in nursing Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership – experience – and creative approaches to management of complex patient care Demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve the care for a group of patients Will identify process and/or procedural gaps and inefficiencies and implement changes to improve the processes and develop standard work to ensure consistency Primary Care providers in the outpatient setting are typically assigned a panel of patients to manage Alternative or collateral duties may include management of a subsection of primary care patients Timely documentation is necessary in all areas in accordance with departmental policy Clinical reminders should be addressed as medically appropriate All providers will work within their privileges at all times – unless necessitated by an emergency Quality of care should be able to meet professional standards at all times VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay: Competitive salary – regular salary increases – potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave – 13 days of sick leave – 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Full-time – Monday – Friday – 8;00am – 4:30pm Subject to change based on needs of the facility Compressed/Flexible: Not available Telework: Not available Virtual: This is not a virtual position Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive Contact April Hightower at april.hightower1@va.gov – the EDRP Coordinator for questions/assistance Learn more Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
