Compensation and Schedule
We offer competitive compensation ranging from $32.84 to $41.35 per hour, with rates subject to negotiation based on qualifications and experience. This position offers 14 to 37.5 hours per week with the potential for part-time to full-time transitions. The schedule includes morning, evening, and night shifts to ensure comprehensive patient coverage.

Education Requirements
To be considered for this Licensed Practical Nurse position, candidates must be eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work. Experience Requirements
Previous experience in geriatrics is required for this position. Key Responsibilities
Medication Administration
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for administering medications to patients according to established protocols and physician orders. This includes proper dosage calculation, administration techniques, and monitoring for therapeutic effects and potential side effects. You will meticulously document all medication administration and patient responses in patient files.
Clinical Procedures
Your responsibilities will include conducting specimen collection, applying aseptic techniques for sterile dressing changes, and ensuring proper infection control measures are followed at all times. These clinical procedures are essential for maintaining patient health and preventing healthcare-associated infections.
Monitoring and Assessment
You will be responsible for regularly monitoring patients’ vital signs, nutritional intake, and overall condition. This ongoing assessment helps in tracking patient progress, evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and identifying any changes that may require medical attention or adjustment to the care plan.
Surgical Assistance
In certain settings, you may be called upon to provide technical assistance to surgical teams. This includes laying out instruments, setting up equipment, assisting with sterile gowns and gloves, and passing instruments to surgeons during procedures. This role requires precision, knowledge of sterile techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in surgical environments.
Pre and Post-Operative Care
You will provide essential pre-operative and post-operative personal care to patients, ensuring their comfort and dignity during vulnerable periods. This includes preparation before procedures and comprehensive care following surgeries, including monitoring for complications and supporting the recovery process.
Therapy Monitoring
Your duties will include monitoring established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy protocols. This requires careful attention to equipment function, patient responses, and documentation of therapeutic outcomes to ensure the effectiveness of these treatments.
Patient Education
A key aspect of your role will be providing safety and health education to patients and their families. This education helps empower patients to participate in their own care, understand their conditions, and make informed decisions about their health.
