Role Overview
We are seeking two Family Physicians to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. The position involves providing comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, with opportunities to develop specialized interests in areas such as chronic disease management, mental health, or geriatric care. The role requires a commitment to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
As a Family Physician at Medicentres, you will be responsible for collecting comprehensive medical information from patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals to inform your clinical decisions. You will conduct thorough examinations to identify diseases and injuries, helping patients develop healthy habits and reshape their approach to wellness.
Clinical Duties
Your clinical responsibilities will include ordering laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to determine the most appropriate medical treatment. You will consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health, prescribe and administer medications and treatments, and inoculate patients to prevent and treat diseases.
Patient Education and Support
A key aspect of this role involves advising patients on healthcare matters and providing counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues. You will help patients navigate the healthcare system, understand their conditions, and make informed decisions about their care.
Administrative Responsibilities
As a licensed physician, you will be responsible for reporting births, deaths, and contagious diseases to government authorities. You will coordinate or manage primary patient care, provide acute care management, and be prepared to provide emergency care when needed. These administrative tasks are essential for maintaining public health standards and ensuring continuity of care.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must hold certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) or have equivalent qualifications that are recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. You must also possess valid licensure by provincial or territorial authorities to practice medicine in Canada.
Medical Education
Applicants must have completed their medical education from an accredited institution and have completed a family medicine residency program. International medical graduates must have their credentials assessed by the Medical Council of Canada and have successfully passed the necessary licensing examinations.
Clinical Experience

Compensation and Benefits
Medicentres offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $350,000 to $600,000 annually, with exact compensation to be negotiated based on qualifications, experience, and scope of practice. Work Schedule and Location
This is a full-time, permanent position with work hours typically ranging from 32 to 40 hours per week. The schedule includes day, evening, and weekend shifts to accommodate patient needs. The work location is on-site at our Calgary clinic, situated at ABT2T 0A5, which is easily accessible by public transportation and has ample parking available.
