Position Overview
As a Cook at Mad Grizzly Bistro Bar, you will be an integral part of our food service operations, responsible for preparing high-quality meals that delight our customers. This is a permanent, full-time position with an hourly wage of $18.00 CAD.
Work Schedule
This position requires flexibility in scheduling, with availability needed during early morning, morning, day, evening, night, and weekend shifts. The standard work week is 40 hours, with the position available to start as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities
Culinary Operations
You will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes and foods in accordance with our restaurant’s standards and recipes. This includes proper cooking techniques, seasoning, and presentation to ensure consistent quality across all menu items.
Menu Planning and Inventory Management
Our Cook will help plan menus and estimate food requirements based on projected customer demand. You will also maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels and minimizing waste through effective portion control and cost management.
Specialized Food Preparation
Special attention must be given to preparing dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances. You must be knowledgeable about common allergens and able to safely modify recipes while maintaining flavor and quality.
Kitchen Management
This role involves supervising kitchen staff and helpers, ensuring all team members follow proper food safety protocols and kitchen procedures. You will also inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Staff Development
As an experienced cook, you will train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, sharing your knowledge and skills to help develop a strong culinary team.
Procurement and Supply Management
You will be responsible for requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, as well as ordering additional supplies and equipment as needed to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
