The CCTV & Access Control Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out the installation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of CCTV surveillance systems, access control systems, boom barriers, intrusion alarm systems, intercom systems, and other electronic security systems.
The technician ensures all assigned maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CCTV, access control, boom barrier, intercom, intrusion alarm, and other electronic security systems.
Install, test, commission, and troubleshoot CCTV cameras, NVRs / DVRs, access controllers, biometric devices, card readers, electric locks, magnetic locks, exit buttons, boom barriers, and related equipment.
Diagnose and repair hardware, software, power supply, and network-related faults.
Install and terminate data cables, power cables, fiber optic cables, and other structured cabling systems.
Configure IP cameras, NVRs/DVRs, network switches, access control controllers, and related devices.
Perform routine system inspections and preventive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
Replace defective equipment and components as directed by the supervisor.
Maintain proper cable management, equipment labeling, and housekeeping at work sites.
Test systems after maintenance or repairs to ensure proper operation before handing them over to the client.
Complete service reports, maintenance checklists, and job completion documentation accurately.
Report equipment defects, recurring faults, and customer concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Ensure all assigned tools, test equipment, and company assets are properly maintained and accounted for.
Follow company safety procedures and always use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Respond promptly to emergency service calls and breakdown maintenance when required.
Maintain good working relationships with clients and represent the company professionally at all times.
Required Qualifications
Diploma, OND, HND, or a Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Professional training or certification in CCTV, networking, or access control systems is an added advantage.
Experience:
2 – 3 years of experience in CCTV and access control installation and maintenance.
Experience working with IP CCTV systems, access control systems, boom barriers, and electronic security systems.
Experience with structured cabling and basic networking.
Working Conditions
12 – hour work shifts as scheduled.
Availability for emergency call – outs, overtime, and after – hours support when required.
Ability to work at heights and in industrial, commercial, and outdoor environments.
Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment safely.
A valid driver's license is an added advantage (or mandatory if the role includes driving company vehicles).
