The Service Engineer is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing UPS systems, inverters, battery banks, and associated power quality products.
The role ensures maximum uptime and performance of power systems for clients through preventive and corrective maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning:Install, configure, and commission new UPS systems, inverters, and battery banks at customer sites.
Troubleshooting & Repair:Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix faults in UPS systems, inverters, and battery chargers down to the component level (PCB repair).
Maintenance:Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) to ensure uninterrupted power supply and prevent equipment failure.
Battery Management:Perform battery impedance testing, battery bank installations, testing, and replacement.
Field Service:Respond promptly to customer emergency service calls and provide on-site technical support.
Reporting:Prepare detailed technical service reports, site assessment reports, and recommendations after each job.
System Testing:Conduct load testing, site inspections, and safety checks to ensure compliance with standards.
Requirements / Qualifications & Skills
Education:Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 2-3 years of hands-on experience in the UPS, Inverter, or Power Systems industry.
Technical Knowledge:
Expertise in Single-phase and 3-phase UPS systems and Inverters.
Proficiency in internal electrical wiring, electricity load separation, and circuit diagram interpretation.
Experience with battery technologies (Lead-acid, Lithium-ion).
Tools:Proficient in using power meters, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, and insulation testers.
Skills:Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure.
Logistics:Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specific inverter/UPS brands (e.g Zektron,Vertiv, Legrand, Schneider, ABB, Ortea, Delta, Tengen, Hioki, KOWATT, INVT, KSTAR, MUST, and Pylontechetc.).
Knowledge of solar PV system design and integration.
