We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage end-to-end procurement activities, supplier relationships, inventory coordination, and import documentation.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in sourcing, vendor management, purchase order processing, and import compliance within a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including Purchase Requisition (PR) preparation, quotation sourcing, purchase order (PO) creation, and approval coordination.
Source, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard reliable local and international suppliers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and OEM suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Prepare, issue, and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Coordinate Goods Received Notes (GRN) and ensure proper documentation after material receipt.
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with relevant departments to maintain optimal stock availability.
Review supplier quotations, invoices, and procurement documents for accuracy and compliance.
Partner with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Finance, and other departments to understand procurement requirements.
Source and procure spare parts, machinery components, and operational materials from local and international markets.
Track supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery timelines, and service standards.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, logistics providers, customs brokers, and government agencies to ensure smooth import operations.
Monitor shipments from supplier dispatch through customs clearance to warehouse delivery.
Manage procurement records and documentation to support audit and regulatory compliance.
Ensure adherence to organizational procurement policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Import & Trade Compliance
Maintain strong knowledge of Nigerian import regulations, including NAFDAC, SON, Customs, and other statutory requirements.
Ensure full compliance with customs procedures and import regulations throughout the procurement cycle.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
3–4 years of procurement experience, preferably within the FMCG or manufacturing sector.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
Experience managing import documentation and international procurement activities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/Procurement Management Systems.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
