As the Medical Officer (Oncology), you will support oncology and radiotherapy services through patient care, treatment planning, clinical follow-up, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Support radiotherapy planning through target-organ contouring, appropriate CT simulations, patient treatment, and authorized clinical procedures
Conduct follow-up consultations, assess patients, review laboratory and radiology results, advise on clinical management, and provide guidance on radiation therapy, surgery, or chemotherapy
Counsel patients and attendants on treatment, potential side effects, lifestyle and dietary changes, obtain informed consent, and maintain patient dignity and privacy
Participate in tumour boards, multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, seminars, quality improvement initiatives, and development/review of clinical treatment protocols
Support staff training and CME, research and development, marketing lectures and educational materials, patient-experience initiatives, and research into new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies
Requirements
Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology or a related oncology specialty
3–5 years relevant experience in oncology or related clinical practice
Proven experience in quality assurance, clinical audits, oncology treatment protocols, patient outcome tracking, and multidisciplinary case management
Strong communication, leadership, training, evidence-based practice, and knowledge of current oncology technologies and advancement.
