We are seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and results-driven professional to lead our Legal Team.
As a Junior Lawyer you will be responsible for providing legal support and advisory services to the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, assist in managing legal risks, and support the effective handling of corporate and litigation matters.
Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, and operational matters.
Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions where required.
Represent the organisation in court proceedings, mediations, and other dispute resolution matters.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Assist in handling labour and employment-related legal matters.
Prepare legal correspondence, reports, and documentation.
Liaise with external solicitors, regulatory agencies, and relevant stakeholders.
Support company secretarial and corporate governance activities.
Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise management accordingly.
Maintain proper documentation and records of legal matters handled by the organization.
Requirements
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Barrister-at-Law (B.L) qualification.
Minimum of 5 years’ post-call experience in legal practice or corporate legal services.
Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) with a valid practicing license.
Sound knowledge of corporate, commercial, and labour laws.
Good drafting, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal assignments effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and legal research tools.
Experience in litigation and dispute resolution is an added advantage
