We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accountant to support the finance and accounting functions of the organization.
The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records.
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other financial documents.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
Perform bank, cash, and ledger reconciliations.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Monitor outstanding receivables and payables.
Assist with payroll preparation and related accounting entries.
Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
Assist with budgeting, expense monitoring, and financial analysis.
Support the preparation of audit schedules and provide requested documentation.
Ensure accounting records comply with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
Identify discrepancies and assist in resolving accounting issues.
Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting.
Must have completed NYSC.
1 – 3 years of relevant accounting experience
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Good numerical and analytical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
