The Inventory Officer manages day-to-day inventory operations — receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking stock accurately. The role keeps records up to date, ensures stock movements are properly documented, and supports stock counts, reconciliations, and warehouse organization to minimize losses.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming inventory against purchase orders and delivery documents.
Record transactions accurately and keep stock records/balances current in the inventory system.
Label, store, and organize inventory per company standards; monitor and report low stock.
Prepare and issue stock requisitions; process transfers between warehouse and stores.
Receive and document returned goods; keep stock movement paperwork complete and filed.
Participate in stock counts, cycle counts, and audits; identify and report discrepancies.
Support investigations into shortages, damages, and losses; assist with reconciliations.
Maintain a clean, organized, safe warehouse; handle fragile/high-value items properly.
Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures where applicable.
Maintain records and filing systems; prepare issue, receipt, transfer, and adjustment documentation.
Assist with inventory reports; promptly report damaged, expired, or obsolete stock.
Update ERP/inventory software promptly; ensure records match physical stock; flag system issues.
Follow inventory, safety, security, and confidentiality policies.
Collaborate with Procurement, Warehouse, Retail, Finance, and Operations; support stores and audits.
Requirements
Bachelor\'s degree/HND in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
1–3 years\' experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or stock control (retail/FMCG a plus).
Basic inventory control knowledge; proficient in Excel/MS Office.
ERP experience (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) an advantage.
Good numerical, record-keeping, and documentation skills.

Working Conditions: Primarily warehouse-based with occasional store visits; standing, walking, bending, lifting; extended hours during stock counts; occasional travel to outlets.
