International Breweries Plc was incorporated in December 1971 by its founder and first Chairman, Dr. Lawrence Omole under the name International Breweries Limited. The Company commenced production of its flagship product Trophy Lager in December 1978 with an installed capacity of 200,000 hectoliters per annum.
Following the increasing demand for its products, in December 1982 the Company embarked on an expansion programme to increase its capacity to 500,000 hectoliters annually. The company was listed on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange in April 1995.The key purpose of this role is to maintain and improve all control and automation related equipment and systems. Focusing mainly on field instrumentation and networks with an understanding of manufacturing execution systems.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Conducts optimisation and troubleshooting of all process control systems within the brewery supports the installations of new process control systems
Interpret process description specifications and conduct modifications /optimisations of process control as per specifications and standards
Identify process control deviations and resolve or recommend solutions
Support the process control change management process
Maintain process control equipment and software integrity and security
Support the development of and upgrade preventative maintenance procedures for process control systems
Have a working knowledge of new technology instrumentation, software, etc
Develop and coach (e.g. Trainees, Instrument apprentices and process operators) to help ensure a sustainable skill pipeline for IB PLC
Perform Standby duties when required
Although this position is during normal working hours, shift work may be a requirement

Key Attributes and Competencies:​
Demonstrated and proven technical knowledge of process measurement instrumentation (level, temperature, pressure, conductivity, pH, etc) operating principles and calibration procedures. Technical understanding of Control Systems architecture (network architecture, servers, plc’s, work stations, network switches, etc)​
Basic knowledge of data historian systems.(InSQL, etc)​
Technical knowledge of Fieldbus technology (ASI, profibus, can bus & industrial Ethernet) would be an advantage
Problem solving abilities on process control systems (PLC’s, SCADA, Batch systems, Fieldbus, Instrumentation, etc)​
Knowledge of the Brewing, Utilities and Packaging Process
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Logical and analytical thinker, with methodical problem solving abilities
Ability to understand technical issues and how they impact on the business ​
Strong aptitude / affinity for Production Execution Systems technology ​
Ability to effectively integrate with other teams and team members​

Minimum Requirements:
B.ENG/Higher National Diploma (HND) Electrical/Electronics Engineering
Minimum of 3 years instrumentation equipment maintenance and PLC experience advantageous
