We are seeking a Graphic Designer (Local) based in Nigeria to serve as our on-the-ground creative production and localization hub.
In this role, you will transform global brand assets into culturally relevant Nigerian experiences, respond to the local market in real time, and ensure brand consistency across every local touchpoint.
Key Responsibilities
Photographer Content Pipeline (Core):
Retouch, color-grade, and edit raw footage from our two local photographers, delivering publish-ready assets on a steady weekly cadence through a reliable shoot, edit, and publish workflow.
Real-Time Local Social Response:
Produce native creatives rapidly for WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, and X (Twitter), including trend-based content, seasonal moments, and crisis or rumor-response visuals.
Global Campaign Localization:
Adapt global and regional materials produced by our Beijing team to the Nigerian context, incorporating local talent and scenes, Pidgin English and slang, and local festivals and cultural cues, so that every asset feels authentic.
Local OOH and Print Production:
Own local proofing, printer and vendor coordination, and on-site quality checks for billboards, agent-network posters, and event and roadshow materials.
Local Brand-Consistency Oversight:
Review vendor and agency output to prevent off-brand changes, acting as the local checkpoint in addition to Beijing's brand guidelines.
Local Template Library:
Convert Beijing master templates into reusable local templates, building long-term value and steadily reducing the workload on the Beijing team.
Authentic African Visual Assets:
Create illustrations, icons, and scene-based visuals that portray real, dignified Nigerian life, free from stereotyping or exoticization.
Requirements
Based in Nigeria (Nigerian national or long-term resident), with native-level Pidgin or local language skills and fluent written and spoken English.
3–5+ years of design experience.
Expert proficiency in Photoshop and Lightroom (retouching and color grading).
Proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, or CapCut for video, and the ability to localize templates in Figma.
Proven track record of delivering steady social, advertising, or event visuals to brief.
Strong brand-consistency instinct, with the ability to execute strictly to guidelines and make sound localization decisions.
Self-directed, async collaborator, comfortable working over Lark (Feishu).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in fintech, payments, or telecommunications.
Illustration or motion graphics skills.
Experience working with local photo and video teams, vendors, or agencies.
Familiarity with OPay's brand tone: modern, international, young, bright, professional, and trustworthy.
What We Offer
Clear brand guidelines and strategic support from the Beijing team, so you are never starting direction from scratch.
Real impact on the Nigerian market, beyond a purely production-focused role.
A defined growth path within OPay's brand system.
