Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Chief Engineer with a strong classroom teaching background to lead our engineering department and deliver high-quality training to students.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of marine engineering principles and be able to effectively convey complex concepts to students.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the engineering department
Develop and deliver classroom training and assessments for maritime students
Create and update course materials to meet STCW and regulatory requirements
Oversee practical training and ensure compliance with industry standards
Provide guidance and mentorship to students and junior staff
Collaborate with other instructors to ensure consistency and quality of training

Requirements

Chief Engineer certification (Class 1 or 2)
Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience in a maritime training program
Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles and STCW regulations
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs

Desirable:

Experience with online learning platforms and digital tools
Familiarity with Nigerian maritime regulations and industry practices
