IPMC is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Chief Data & Research Officer to lead its data, research, analytics and methodology functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing credible data and research capabilities, establishing strong quality and governance standards, and ensuring that information is converted into useful insights for institutional and corporate decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the company's data and research strategy.
Lead data acquisition, research, analytics and methodology-development activities.
Define data requirements and establish appropriate sourcing, validation and documentation processes.
Maintain high standards of data quality, consistency, accuracy and traceability.
Develop and periodically review analytical frameworks, methodologies and assessment models.
Oversee company, sector, market and thematic research.
Ensure that research findings are supported by reliable evidence and clearly documented assumptions.
Provide approved data definitions, analytical requirements and calculation rules to the Technology Team.
Review and validate analytical outputs before external publication or use.
Establish appropriate processes for data corrections, methodology changes and research approvals.
Support strategic engagements with relevant institutions, data providers and industry stakeholders.
Monitor developments in financial markets, sustainability, regulation and emerging data practices.
Recruit, manage and develop analysts, statisticians, researchers and data personnel.
Protect the independence, credibility and integrity of the company's research and analytical work.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Accounting, Sustainability or a related discipline.
A postgraduate degree or relevant professional qualification will be an advantage.
At least 8-10 years of relevant experience in data, research, analytics, financial markets, sustainability or information services.
Demonstrated experience developing methodologies, structured datasets, models or institutional research.
Strong understanding of data quality, statistical analysis, evidence validation and research standards.
Experience producing intelligence for investors, financial institutions, corporations, regulators or development institutions will be an advantage.
