Bursar at Niger Delta University
Established in 2000, the Niger Delta University (NDU) is a Bayelsa State Government funded university which is located in Wilberforce Island (an island of great historic significance) about 30 kilometers from Yenagoa – Bayelsa State capital. The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative and control of the financial affairs of the University.
The Bursar shall hold office for a single term of five years.
Requirements
The candidate is expected to:
Not be below the rank of a Deputy Bursar for at least five (5) years
Not be more than Fifty-Five (55) years of age on assumption of office
Possess a good University Degree in Accountancy, a postgraduate degree will be of added advantage
Be a chartered member of a recognized Professional Accountancy body
Be knowledgeable in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and must show evidence of thorough understanding of the application of new technologies to financial operations and services
Be someone who has not been convicted by a competent court of law
Present a certificate of medical fitness from a reputable Government hospital which will be subjected to verification by the University
Appointment is by interview in line with the Niger Delta University Law.
Skills:
The Bursar shall be required to possess skills in financial reporting, treasury management, business planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting and cost controls, tax planning/management and knowledge of accounting software.
Remuneration
A consolidated salary for the University Bursar and allowances as applicable to the Nigerian University System plus other benefits as approved by the Governing Council.
