The Associate Civil Engineer supports civil and structural engineering design, technical assurance, structural integrity, compliance with standards and efficient project delivery.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has hands-on experience in structural design, piling and execution of deep foundation works.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
Assist in the design and analysis of foundations including pile foundations (bored piles, driven piles, CFA piles, raft foundations, etc.)
Interpret geotechnical investigation reports and recommend suitable foundation systems
Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports
Review structural designs to ensure compatibility with foundation systems
Site Supervision & Execution
Supervise piling and foundation works on-site to ensure adherence to specifications
Monitor pile installation processes, including load testing and integrity testing
Coordinate with contractors, geotechnical engineers, and project teams
Ensure quality control and compliance with safety and engineering standards
Project Coordination
Assist in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation for civil, structural engineering and foundation works
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and track project progress and prepare site reports
Identify and resolve technical issues during execution
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure all works comply with local regulations, codes, and international standards
Maintain documentation for inspections, approvals, and audits
Implement HSE policies during site operations
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Experience
Minimum of 5 years post-NYSC experience in civil engineering
Professional engineering registration NSE, COREN is compulsory.
Proven experience in piling and foundation engineering projects
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical principles
Familiarity with foundation design software (e.g., PLAXIS, SAFE, ETABS, or similar)
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering tools
Understanding of pile load testing and interpretation
