Role Summary:
The Accountant, will be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the business unit by ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cost control, sound financial analysis and compliance with company policies. The role requires a commercially minded finance professional who will not only produce financial reports but also partner with operational management to improve profitability, efficiency and business performance.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
ACA or ACCA qualification (or advanced stage of completion) is preferred.
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' relevant accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, management accounting, reconciliations and ledger management.
Experience in manufacturing, industrial operations or unit finance will be an added advantage.
Good working knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong analytical and numerical ability.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
Ability to support operational management with sound financial analysis and decision-making. •

Key Responsibilities
Maintain complete and accurate books of account for the business unit.
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial performance reports.
Monitor revenues, production costs, operating expenses, margins and profitability.
Prepare reconciliations for bank accounts, general ledger accounts and key balance sheet items.
Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
Monitor receivables, payables and working capital performance.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls and statutory requirements. • Provide financial analysis to support operational and management decision-making.
Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities.
Supervise finance support staff within the business unit.
Recommend initiatives that improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
