Every naira that comes in and goes out will pass through your records. You will help the business owner understand the numbers clearly — what we are selling, what we are spending, what profit we are making, and where we are leaking money. You will also manage our inventory records so we always know exactly what stock we have, what has expired, and what needs reordering.
This is a hands-on role that requires someone who is organized, honest, detail-oriented, and comfortable with numbers every day.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Record-Keeping
Record all daily sales, purchases, expenses, and payments accurately
Maintain a proper cashbook, petty cash records, and bank reconciliation statements
Track all accounts payable (what Mikfort owes suppliers) and accounts receivable (what customers owe us)
Prepare weekly and monthly financial summaries for the business owner
Support preparation of quarterly profit and loss reports
Inventory & Stock Management
Maintain a live inventory register of all products — medicines, vaccines, feeds, tools, chemicals, and equipment
Record all stock received from suppliers and update inventory after each sale
Track product expiry dates and alert management before products expire
Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile physical stock with records
Flag slow-moving or out-of-stock items for timely reorder
Invoicing & Documentation
Issue invoices and receipts to customers and keep proper copies
File all supplier invoices, delivery notes, and payment receipts in an organized system
Ensure all transactions have supporting documents before recording
Reporting & Business Insight
Prepare daily and weekly sales reports showing what was sold, by quantity and value
Report on gross profit margins per product category
Identify and flag any financial irregularities or discrepancies immediately
Support the owner in understanding which products and customer segments generate the most revenue
Tax & Compliance Support
Maintain records in a format that supports VAT filing and FIRS compliance
Assist with preparation of financial documents when needed for bank loans or government registrations
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education & Certification
OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Professional certification (e.g. AAT, ICAN Foundation Level) is an added advantage — though strong hands-on experience matters more to us
Experience
1 to 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in a retail, trading, or FMCG environment
Prior experience in an agro-input, pharmaceutical, or inventory-heavy business is a significant plus
Skills & Competencies
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for record-keeping and reporting
Experience with any accounting or POS software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
Solid understanding of basic accounting concepts: debits and credits, trial balance, bank reconciliation
Ability to manage inventory records with lot numbers and expiry date tracking
Excellent attention to detail — you catch errors before they become problems
High level of personal integrity and trustworthiness
Good written and spoken communication in English
