The Civil Society Scaling-Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN) is a non-governmental, non-profit making coalition, made up of organizations with a shared vision to transform Nigeria into a country where every citizen is food and nutrition secured. We pursue this lofty goal by engaging government and non-state actors to raise awareness, sustain commitment and actions to effectively tackle under-nutrition in Nigeria. The coalition was formally launched on the 7th of August, 2014.
We have a common vision with clearly defined roles and responsibilities, clear accountability and sustainability framework. The guiding principles of the alliance include; Evidence based decision making, Gender mainstreaming, Equity, Feed- back, Diversity, Value for money Transparency and Integrity.Procurement number: CS-SUNN/2026 – 10/001
Date of Committee Review: 29th October 2026
Proposed Date of Workshop: 4th – 6th November 2026
Location: Abuja
Background
Civil Society-Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN) is a multi-stakeholder civil society alliance advancing food and nutrition security through policy advocacy, accountability, systems strengthening, capacity development, and citizen engagement. CS-SUNN intends to convene a practical three-day workshop for its Board of Trustees (7), Steering Committee (8), and National Secretariat Management (7).
The workshop will establish a shared institutional view, clarify mandates and decision rights, strengthen strategic and fiduciary oversight, improve the governance-management interface, and produce time-bound governance actions. It is a facilitated learning and application process, not a substitute for a full independent organisational, financial or programme evaluation.
Purpose
CS-SUNN seeks an independent corporate organization, firm/agency, or facilitation team to prepare, design, and deliver the workshop; consolidate its governance tools and decisions; and facilitate a subsequent implementation review. The approach should combine concise expert input with substantial application to CS-SUNN’s circumstances.
Objectives
Provide a shared understanding of CS-SUNN’s vision, mandate and strategic priorities.
Clarify mandates, fiduciary duties, authority limits and accountabilities of the three leadership groups.
Distinguish governance, strategic oversight and management responsibilities, including reserved, delegated, consulted and reported matters.
Strengthening oversight of strategy, performance, finance, risk, safeguarding, ethics and sustainability.
Identify governance strengths, gaps, risks and opportunities.
Agree practical recommendations and a prioritised 90-day and 12-month Governance Improvement Plan with owners, milestones and review arrangements.
Scope of Work
Preparation
Leadership briefing to confirm scope, participants, confidentiality, decision authority and outputs.
Inception note, workplan, document request list and final agenda.
Confidential pre-workshop questionnaire and anonymised synthesis.
Focused review of governance, strategy, performance, financial, risk and compliance documents.
Tailored cases, tools, participant materials and evaluation instruments.
Workshop delivery
Facilitate all three days using approximately 30 percent expert input and 70 percent applied learning.
Use plenary dialogue, group work, case simulation, mandate and decision mapping, peer exchange, reflection and action planning.
Manage time, participation, sensitive discussion and psychological safety.
Close each day with a structured reflection and decision log; assign unresolved matters for further work rather than force premature agreement.
Reporting and follow-up
Consolidate decisions, commitments, unresolved matters and evaluation findings.
Finalise the decision-rights matrix, governance calendar, dashboard requirements and Governance Improvement Plan.
Facilitate an implementation review approximately 90 days after the workshop.
