The Head, Procurement & Vendor Management is responsible for leading and executing the organization's procurement and vendor management strategy, ensuring the delivery of cost-effective, compliant, and value-driven sourcing solutions across the business.
The role oversees procurement planning, strategic sourcing, contract management, vendor governance, supplier performance management, and procurement risk management while driving operational excellence, process improvements, and adherence to regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
The incubent will lead vendor onboarding and due diligence processes, manage supplier relationships and performance, oversee competitive bidding and contract negotiations, and ensure the integrity of vendor data and procurement records.
The role also provides leadership to the Procurement and Vendor Management team, partners with key stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and business units, and delivers strategic insights, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives that support business objectives and maximize value from supplier engagement.
Qualifications
Type of Qualification: First Degree
Field of Study: Procurement, Economics, Management, Accounting or a related field
Master's degree is an added advantage.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 7-10 years' progressive experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Management, Contract Management, Supplier Relationship Management, and Procurement Operations.
Strong experience in supplier risk management, regulatory compliance, audit controls, and third-party risk management within a financial services or regulated industry environment.
Hands-on experience managing procurement processes using SAP or other procurement and procure-to-pay systems.
Demonstrated experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives, vendor negotiations, contract administration, supplier performance management, and cost optimization projects.
Proven leadership experience managing procurement and vendor management teams and engaging senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and business functions.
Knowledge of the Pension, Financial Services, Asset Management, or Banking industry and relevant regulatory requirements is an added advantage.
