The Plant Head at Olam Agri is responsible for overall management of day to day plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost effective manufacturing. The role oversees all core plant functions including production, processing, quality, engineering, projects, and QEHS while ensuring compliance with food safety, regulatory, and environmental standards. Based at Kaduna, the Plant Head drives operational excellence, cost efficiency, and workforce productivity, working closely with central functions to deliver consistent performance and continuous improvement in line with Olam Agri s manufacturing standards
Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily plant operations including production, processing, quality, engineering, projects, and QEHS to ensure uninterrupted and compliant functioning
Ensure adherence to quality systems and food safety standards through regular review of shop floor operations, audits, and corrective actions
Optimize production costs by monitoring OEEs, wastages, conversion costs, and variances, and driving root cause analysis and improvement actions
Lead QEHS initiatives in coordination with the Central Quality team and implement sustainable systems to maintain performance gains
Drive engineering excellence through preventive maintenance, cost-controlled repairs, and timely execution of projects within scope, cost, and timelines
Manage industrial relations by leading discussions with unions, maintaining industrial discipline, and improving labor productivity
Prepare and control plant budgets for manpower, energy, materials, maintenance, and overheads, ensuring effective budgetary control
Experience & Qualifications
15 to 20 years of experience in plant management and manufacturing operations
Strong exposure to project execution and large plant operations
Prior experience in a leading FMCG organization is mandatory
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a reputable institute
Knowledgeable in compliance systems
