We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven and results-oriented Account and Finance Manager to lead our Finance Department and provide strategic financial leadership that supports sustainable business growth.
Reporting Line:
Reports directly to the Managing Director Leads and supervises the Accounts & Finance Department, including Accounts Officers, Cashier and other Finance Support Staff
Works closely with all Departmental Heads to drive financial planning, budgeting, cost control and business performance
Job Purpose
The Account and Finance Manager is responsible for leading the Finance Department by ensuring sound financial management, effective internal controls, statutory compliance, accurate financial reporting and the provision of timely financial information for strategic decision-making.
The role is expected to drive financial discipline, improve profitability and strengthen the Company's financial governance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Accounts & Finance Department:
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and executive reports.
Provide timely financial analysis and business performance reports to Management.
Manage accounts payable, receivable, invoicing and debt recovery.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, treasury activities and liquidity requirements.
Develop and monitor annual budgets, departmental budgets and financial forecasts.
Analyse operational costs, project profitability and overall business performance.
Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts, supplier accounts, customer accounts and the general ledger
Ensure full compliance with VAT, WHT, PAYE, Company Income Tax, Pension, NSITE, ITF and other statutory obligations.
Coordinate external audits, tax audits and regulatory inspections.
Develop, implement and continuously improve financial policies, internal controls and accounting procedures.
Supervise payroll processing and statutory remittances.
Oversee inventory valuation, fixed asset accounting and financial control of company assets.
Advise Executive Management on financial risks, investment opportunities and business performance.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance Department.
Qualification and Experience
The ideal candidate should possess:
Candidates should possess a B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
A minimum of 10 years' progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Demonstrated experience reporting directly to a Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer or Executive Management.
Professional qualification such as ACA, FCA, ACCA or ANAN is mandatory.
Candidates at the final professional stage may also be considered.
Strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, IFRS and financial reporting standards.
Proven experience in budgeting, financial planning. management reporting, cost accounting and business analysis.
Experience in manufacturing, engineering services, industrial operations or multi-location organisations will be a distinct advantage.
Excellent knowledge of accounting software, ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel
